Abalone shells (also known as "paua" in New Zealand) are used during smudging rituals. These shells are a thick seashell which shimmers iridescent colours of mother of pearl. Paua holds the energy of the ocean and brings a calming and healing energy, allowing you to remain connected to the sea.
Using these shells in your smudging rituals means you are incorporating all 4 of the earth’s elements:
- shell: represents water
- smoke: represents air
- unlit herbs/sticks: represent earth
- lit herbs/sticks: represent fire
By incorporating all of the above elements into your smudging ritual, you are inviting Mother Earth to be the focus of your ceremony. In this space created by Her, transformations and manifestations have room to occur.
** Price is per 1x piece. The picture represents the quality you can expect to receive. Please note that shells are unique and individual, they can vary slightly in size and colour.
